ADMINISTRATIVE ACTIONS
Proposed amendments to the Ohio Rules of Civil Procedure ( Civ.R. 1, 1.1, 4.1, 4.6, 10, 26, 30, 33, 36, 37, 39, 43, 45, 53, 57, 65.1, 73, and 75 and Civil Form 20), the Ohio Rules of Criminal Procedure ( Crim.R. 1, 2, 10, 12, 15, 33.1, 40, and 43), the Ohio Rules of Evidence ( Evid.R. 101, 601, 607, 609, and 616 ), and the Ohio Rules of Juvenile Procedure ( Juv.R. 1, 2, 8, 18, 27, 34, 35, and 41 ) were approved on December 13, 2022, for publication in the January 23, 2023 Ohio Official Reports advance sheet for a public-comment period ending February 17, 2023. The proposed amendments have been posted on the court's website.
The vote lines herein reflect the composition of the court on December 13, 2022, the date the court voted on the proposed amendments.
O'Connor, C.J., and Fischer, Donnelly, Stewart, and Brunner, JJ., concurred in publishing the proposed amendments for comment.
Kennedy and DeWine, JJ., concurred in part and dissented in part and would not publish for comment the proposed Crim.R. 33.1.
