WILLIAM TRAVIS HENDRIX, Appellant v. THE STATE OF TEXAS, Appellee

On Appeal from the 366th Judicial District Court Collin County, Texas
Trial Court Cause No. 366-82878-2017

ORDER

We REINSTATE this appeal.

Because appellant had not filed his brief (originally due November 28, 2018), we abated this appeal for a hearing. On February 28th, the trial court conducted a hearing to determine why appellant's brief had not been filed and made findings. We ADOPT the trial court's findings, filed with this Court on March 22, 2019, that (1) appellant desires to prosecute this appeal; (2) appellant is indigent and represented by Kristin Brown; (3) Ms. Brown has had an unusually heavy workload; and (4) Ms. Brown said she can finish the brief by March 28, 2019. In light of this, we ORDER appellant's brief filed on or before April 5 , 2019.

If appellant's brief is not filed by the date specified, the Court will utilize the remedies available to it, which may include ordering that Kristin Brown be removed as appellant's appointed attorney.

We DIRECT the Clerk to send copies of this order to the Honorable Ray Wheless, Presiding Judge, 366th Judicial District Court; Kristin Brown; and to the Collin County District Attorney.
