Filed: September 14, 2006. DO NOT PUBLISH.

Appeal from the District Court of Bastrop County, 21st Judicial District, No. 10,962-a, Honorable Terry L. Flenniken, Judge Presiding. Dismissed for Want of Jurisdiction.

Before Chief Justice LAW, Justices PEMBERTON and WALDROP.

MEMORANDUM OPINION

On May 22, 2006, Matt Denison filed in the district court his application for writ of habeas corpus pursuant to article 11.072. Tex. Code Crim. Proc. Ann. art. 11.072 (West 2005). The district clerk subsequently prepared a record containing the writ application and its supporting attachments and forwarded it to this Court. The clerk's record was filed on July 26, 2006. Under article 11.072, the district court must enter a written order granting or denying relief after considering the State's response to the application. Id. art. 11.072, § 6. If relief is denied in whole or in part, the applicant may give notice of appeal. Id. art. 11.072, § 8. Insofar as the record reflects and the Clerk has been able to determine, the State has not responded to the application, no order has been made by the district court, and no notice of appeal has been filed in this cause. The application remains pending in the district court. The purported appeal is dismissed for want of jurisdiction.
