Opinion

No. 05-06-00868-CR

Opinion Filed July 25, 2006. DO NOT PUBLISH. Tex.R.App.P. 47.

On Appeal from the County Criminal Court of Appeals, Dallas County, Texas, Trial Court Cause No. MC-06-4-0001-D. Dismiss.

Before Justices MORRIS, O'NEILL, and MAZZANT.

MEMORANDUM OPINION

Jeffrey Lynn Estep was convicted in Rowlett Municipal Court of Record of failure to wear a safety belt. Punishment was assessed at a $50 fine. Appellant appealed to the County Criminal Court of Appeals, and the municipal court's judgment was affirmed. Appellant then appealed to this Court. Because the fine imposed was less than $100, we do not have jurisdiction over the appeal. See Tex. Gov't Code Ann. § 30.00027(a) (Vernon 2004) (appeal may be taken if fine exceeds $100). Accordingly, we dismiss the appeal for want of jurisdiction.
