ORDER
This appeal has been unduly stalled due to the failure of Appellant's appointed counsel, Dennis Jones, to file an appellate brief. Appellant's brief was originally due on April 27, 2020. Counsel filed a motion for extension of time to file his brief, which this court granted, extending the deadline to May 27, 2020. After that deadline passed, this court, on its own motion, extended the deadline to July 17, 2020. On July 21, 2020, again on our own motion, we granted an extension, informed counsel that the inordinate delay was a serious matter, and directed counsel to file Appellant's brief on or before 5:00 p.m. on July 31, 2020. On August 14, 2020, counsel attempted to e-file an Anders brief, but that brief had to be rejected for various deficiencies. As of today, counsel has not resubmitted the Anders brief or filed any appellate brief in this matter.
Appellant's brief is now due to be filed in this court on or before 5:00 p.m. on September 9, 2020. If Appellant's brief has not been e-filed and is not in the portal at that time, Dennis Jones is ORDERED to APPEAR IN PERSON in the 11th Court of Appeals, 100 West Main St., Suite 300, Eastland, Texas, at 10:00 a.m. on September 10, 2020.
