On order of the Court, the application for leave to appeal the February 21, 2003 judgment of the Court of Appeals is considered, and it is GRANTED. The parties are directed to include among the issues to be briefed whether the plaintiffs' action is time-barred by MCL 600.5805(2), which provides that the period of limitations is two years for an action charging battery.

Other persons or groups interested in the determination of the questions presented in this case may move the Court for permission to file briefs amicus curiae.
