Kent-Shay Brown, Jr. acting pro se, filed a notice of appeal on November 12, 2019, stating that he was appealing from the judgment of November 6, 2019, but the clerk's record does not contain a judgment.
On December 5, 2019, the Clerk of this Court advised appellant that it appears that this Court lacks jurisdiction over this matter because this Court's jurisdiction generally is limited to appeals in which there exists a final and appealable judgment or order which has been signed by a judge. The Clerk requested that he file a response by December 16, 2019, explaining how this Court may exercise jurisdiction over this appeal and advised him that the failure to do so would result in the dismissal of this appeal. See Tex. R. App. P. 42.3(a).
Appellant has filed a response confirming that there is no signed judgment but asking for more time to obtain a signed judgment from the trial court. Accordingly, we abate this appeal for 30 days to give appellant time to obtain a signed judgment from the trial court and then to request a supplemental clerk's record containing the judgment. See Tex. R. App. P. 27.2 ("The appellate court may treat actions taken before an appealable order is signed as relating to an appeal of that order and give them effect as if they had been taken after the order was signed."); see also id. R. 27.1 (addressing prematurely filed notice of appeals). Failure to comply with this order will result in dismissal of this appeal for want of jurisdiction.
