Lower Tribunal Nos.: 2005-70,449(11L), 2006-70,979(11L), 2007-70,466(11L).


The uncontested report of the referee is approved and respondent is suspended from the practice of law for six months, effective February 12, 2007. Respondent shall accept no new business from the date this order is filed until he is reinstated.

Respondent is further placed on probation for two years, effective February 12, 2007, under the terms and conditions set forth in the report and the consent judgment.

Respondent shall pay restitution in the amount of $1,000.00 to Nancy J. Brittle under the terms and conditions set forth in the report and the consent judgment.

Judgment is entered for The Florida Bar, 651 East Jefferson Street, Tallahassee, Florida 32399-2300, for recovery of costs from Steven Elliot Brooks in the amount of $1,729.21, for which sum let execution issue.

Not final until time expires to file motion for rehearing, and if filed, determined. The filing of a motion for rehearing shall not alter the effective date of this suspension.
