AV General Services Petitioner v. Commissioner of Internal Revenue Respondent

ORDER

Mark V. Holmes Judge

This case is on the Court's April 4, 2022 trial calendar for Los Angeles, California. On January 11, 2022, petitioner moved without oppposition to continue it. We spoke with the parties on January 18, 2022 to gauge progress. Petitioner and his businesses have apparently had a number of cases. These have all settled at IRS Appeals and petitioner is optimistic that with a bit of time this one will settle as well. Both sides report cooperation in informal discovery; respondent reports that he will get this case assigned to the same Appeals Officer who was able to settle the related cases. It is therefore reasonable to move this case to a status-report track, and it is

ORDERED that petitioner's January 11, 2022 motion for continuance is granted in that this case is stricken from the Court's April 4, 2022 trial calendar. It is also

ORDERED that this division of the Court retains jurisdiction. It is also

ORDERED that on or before April 18, 2022 the parties shall submit settlement documents or petitioner shall file a status report that briefly describes progress toward settlement.
