KUMNEGER D. ASFAW, Petitioner v. COMMISSIONER OF INTERNAL REVENUE, Respondent

ORDER TO SHOW CAUSE

Lewis R. Carluzzo, Chief Special Trial Judge

This case for the redetermination of a deficiency was recalled from the calendar for trial in Phoenix, Arizona, on June 6, 2022, during the trial session that began on that date. There was no appearance by or on behalf of petitioner. Counsel for respondent appeared and made an oral motion to dismiss for lack of prosecution. In the motion, respondent requests that the Court dismiss the case and enter a decision that there is a $3,957 deficiency in petitioner's 2017 Federal income tax.

Premises considered, and for cause set forth more fully in the transcript of the above-referenced proceedings, it is

ORDERED that on or before July 7, 2022, petitioner show cause in writing why respondent's oral motion should not be granted.

Petitioner is advised that the failure to respond to this order will result in the dismissal of this case and entry of decision as requested in respondent's motion.
