ORDER
On January 26, 2017, Patrick Montgomery was removed as appointed counsel for appellant in this appeal. On January 27, 2017, we issued an order abating this appeal and remanding the case to the trial court for appointment of new appellate counsel. The trial court was further ordered to admonish new appellate counsel that appellant's brief was due on March 9, 2017, and that, because this appeal had been pending since September 2016, this Court would disfavor any motions for extension of time to file the appellant's brief.
As of this date, neither a supplemental record containing the trial court's order of appointment nor an appellant's brief have been filed. Therefore, it appears that no action has been taken by the trial court with respect to this Court's January 27, 2017 order.
We, therefore, ORDER the trial court to appoint appellate counsel to represent appellant in this appeal no later than Friday, March 24, 2017. The trial court is FURTHER ORDERED to admonish new appellate counsel that any motion for extension of time to file appellant's brief will be disfavored by this Court. We ORDER the trial court clerk to file a supplemental clerk's record containing the trial court's order appointing new appellate counsel no later than Tuesday, March 28, 2017.
Appellant's brief is due on May 1, 2017.
