From the 37th Judicial District Court, Bexar County, Texas Trial Court No. 2018-CI-04336 Honorable Nicole Garza, Judge Presiding
Sitting: Beth Watkins, Justice Liza A. Rodriguez, Justice Lori I. Valenzuela, Justice.
ORDER
Beth Watkins, Justice.
On May 16, 2023, we issued an order directing court reporter David Laurel to appear before this court in person or via Zoom on June 7, 2023 to show cause why he should not be held in contempt of court for failing to file the reporter's record in this case. In our order, we noted, "If Mr. Laurel files a complete copy of the reporter's record by no later than 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 6, 2023, this court may elect to cancel the show cause hearing."
On May 31, 2023, Mr. Laurel filed an eleven-volume reporter's record of proceedings that he recorded on April 18, 2022. In the reporter's record, Mr. Laurel certifies "that the above and foregoing contains a true and correct transcription of all portions of evidence and other proceedings requested in writing by counsel for the parties to be included in this volume of the Reporter's Record[.]" Because Mr. Laurel filed the reporter's record in accordance with our May 16, 2023 order, we elect to cancel the show cause hearing scheduled for June 7, 2023, and we release Mr. Laurel from his obligation to appear before this court on that date.
Our records appear to show that the appellate record is now complete. If the appellate record is not complete, we ORDER appellant to notify this court of that fact by June 9, 2023. If appellant does not so notify this court, we will consider the appellate record is complete, and appellant's brief will be due by June 30, 2023. See TEX. R. APP. P. 38.6(a)(2).
