ORDER
This matter is before the Court on its own motion. The Court has, from time to time, participated in internship programs for students meeting certain requirements. For the purpose of formalizing such a program, the Court now establishes the Mississippi Appellate Court Internship Program.
IT IS THEREFORE ORDERED that the Mississippi Appellate Court Internship Program is hereby established, effective August 15, 2007. Under this program, each Supreme Court justice and Court of Appeals judge may host one student research associate per semester term. Selection of candidates for student research associate positions will be at the discretion of participating Supreme Court Justices or Court of Appeals Judges. Each participating justice or judge shall be responsible for supervision of the student research associate and may be responsible for providing feedback on the student's performance for purposes of grading and evaluation. Participating justices or judges will be responsible for the accommodation of his/her student research associates and the student will be located in the justice's or judge's suite. Each student research associate shall be required to take an oath pursuant to Miss. Code Ann. § 9-3-27. Each student research associate shall also submit a resume to be kept on file at the Court, participate in an orientation program administered by Court Administration and abide by such rules as may be promulgated by the Court. The Mississippi Appellate Court Internship Program will operate in conjunction with participating schools. The internships are by definition not paid or salaried positions. Interns will be responsible for any related personal expenses.
