RAY STEVEN ADKINS & SHARON LEA ADKINS, Petitioners v. COMMISSIONER OF INTERNAL REVENUE, Respondent

ORDER

David Gustafson, Judge

This case is scheduled to be tried at a session of the Tax Court in Detroit beginning September 6, 2022; but on June 17, 2022, petitioners filed a motion to proceed remotely. The motion states that counsel for the Commissioner has not yet returned their calls to state the Commissioner's position. We will order the Commissioner to respond.

That response should, of course, state whether the Commissioner objects. In addition, whether or not the Commissioner objects, that response should also describe the results of the parties' consultation about possible dates for any remote proceeding that the Court might order in this case. The Court expects to hold "standalone" remote sessions beginning October 31, 2022, November 14, 2022, December 5, 2022, and December 19, 2022. The Commissioner's response should inform the Court about the parties' availability on those dates.

To that end, it is

ORDERED that, no later than July 6, 2022, the Commissioner shall file a response to petitioners' motion to proceed remotely.
